Get Cortex
Two steps. Your agent does the rest.
Start
- 1Add the Cortex plugin to your agent. In Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add arcintelligence/cortex, then/plugin install cortex@arc. - 2Type
/cortex-onboarding. Your agent installs Cortex, shows what it found, and asks before it compiles anything.
Then, any time: /orient continue the big move
Prefer the command line
pip install cortex-byarc # or: uv tool install cortex-byarccortex init # find your agent sessions, create a local storecortex ingest # compile your past sessions, with your own model keycortex install-skills # put /orient and its siblings into your agent
Works with
- Claude Code
- Codex
Build on it
The same context your agent gets, as data your own program can call.
from cortex.runtime import Cortexcx = Cortex.open(project="payments-service")envelope, _ = cx.boot() # that agentenvelope["must_inject"] # its judgment, language, rapportpkg = cx.orient("continue the big move")pkg.active_frontier # where the work ispkg.suggested_next_move # grounded in what you saidpkg.canonical_quotes # word for word, with its source
Your data
- The record Cortex builds lives in one folder on your disk. Arc never receives it.
- Compiling sends the relevant turns to your own model provider, under your key, after you approve.
- By default Cortex sends nothing to Arc. What goes where.
